Mass flowmeter, particularly a hot film anemometer for use in the inlet channel of a combustion engine has a housing (1) with an auxiliary channel and a funnel shaped channel inlet (4). The airflow is guided through the channel past the hot film sensors to an outlet. To remove particles, such as water droplets, from the flow the wall surface of the inlet has a profile that is designed to guide the particles along its surface.
