<p>14-Beta-Hydroxy-pregnane-21-Als. Cpds. (I) are useful as intermediate for cardiotonic cpds. (where R1 and R2 are OH, or together O; R3 is H an OH-protecting group or a alpha-L-rhamonosyl, beta-D-digitoxosyl, tri-(beta-D-digitoxosyl) or beta-D-cymarosyl residue; R4 is H or 1-3C alkyl; R5 is free or protected OH, 1-3C alkoxy, or R4 + R5 is O or alkylene dioxy, and R6-R9 are H, free of protected-OH, are prepd. by oxidn. of an opt. protected 21-ol and removal of protecting groups. (I) is e.g. 3beta- O-(2,3,4-tri-O-acetyl-alpha-L-rhamnosyl) 1beta-11alpha, 19-triacetoxy-5beta, 14beta, 21,21-tetrahydroxy-5beta-pregnan-20-one.</p> |
