Flowing metal foam produced by gas introduction into melt, brings growing bubble surfaces together to form mono-modal cavity size distribution

Parts of the growing surfaces of the foam bubbles (6), are laid together. This induces bubble closure determining their size. New cavities of the foam, are formed with mono-modal cavity size distribution. Moldings produced have low weight and/or higher energy absorption during deformation. An independent claim is included for the molded foam component and equipment used.
