PROCESS FOR PRODUCING LOW POLYMER OF alpha-OLEFIN

A process for producing a lowα−olefin polymer which comprises lowly polymerizing anα−olefin in the presence of a Ziegler catalyst,characterized by introducing at least part of the reaction product having a temperature of at least 115°C taken out of the reaction vessel into an external heat exchanger to cool the reaction product,subsequently keeping at a temperature of 110°C or higher the liquid polymerization reaction mixture taken out of the external heat exchanger,and returning at least part of this mixture to the reaction vessel.In this process for producing a lowα−olefin polymer,polymer precipitation/deposition in the production apparatus including the external heat exchanger and troubles attributable thereto can be avoided to make a stable continuous long−term operation possible.
