A method of treating a heavy-metal-containing wastewater with a sulfidizing agent. A sulfidizing agent is added to the heavy-metal-containing wastewater to sulfide the heavy metal in such a manner that the state in which hydrogen sulfide gas begins to generate from the wastewater is maintained while the hydrogen sulfide gas generated from the wastewater is being detected. When a wastewater containing ions of different metals is treated to separately recover the metals therefrom, the wastewater is regulated so as to have an acidity in a range suitable for a metal to be separated and recovered and the metal is sulfided. The metal sulfide thus generated is sedimented and taken out by filtration. This procedure is repeatedly conducted for the individual metals.
|
