The frame for a room divider or wall system comprises vertical posts (5) and cross-pieces (4). These are mounted at junctions in the framework in cylinders (8) with flanged top and bottom. These have a series of bores around their circumference. Screws are inserted through these into nuts positioned in longitudinal slots in the top and bottom of the cross-pieces. Independent claims are included for: (a) a room divider containing the frame; (b) the junction pieces used in the system; (c) the cross-pieces used in the system; and (d) carrier profiles for the walls (6).
