The manufacturing process involved taking a molded sheet component with a 3D structure and deforming it further by hydraulic deformation in a region (2) of different structure. The edge region (3) is clamped between the side wall parts (4, 5, 6, 7) of an openable tool (8) so that the component divides the tool cavity (9) into a pressure cavity (10) and a die cavity (11) for final pressing.
