The invention relates to a method for the production of a dental prostheses, such as a crown or a bridge, wherein: - a base pattern made of a material that melts or evaporates under the influence of heat is made on a preparation or on a positive impression, such as a stump or model, of said preparation, - the base pattern formed is enclosed in a heat-resistant material, such as plaster, - heat is applied to the heat-resistant material to make the base pattern melt or evaporate, this operation being carried out in such away that a cavity is created in the heat-resistant material, - the cavity in the heat-resistant material is used for making a base for the dental prosthesis from, for example, metal or ceramic, - the base for the dental prostheses is coated with a tooth-coloured material of, for example, porcelain, to form the outside of the dental prosthesis, wherein a stop made of tooth-coloured material, such as porcelain, is fitted on the preparation or on the positive impression of said preparation and the gap between the outside of the preparation or the outside of the positive impression of said preparation and the inside of the stop is filled in order to obtain the base pattern, which base pattern is used to form the base, the dental prosthesis being obtained by joining the base to stop or an outer prosthesis part that has been made from a tooth-coloured material such as porcelain, having the same shape and size as the stop. |
