The storage system has goods (6) stored on a number of supports (5) which are moved on two vertical conveyors (3, 4), one of which works in the upwards direction and the other in the downwards directions. The goods supports are moved horizontally to and from the the top and bottom of these conveyors at upper and lower transfer positions (7, 8).
