SURFACE-MOUNT ANTENNA AND COMMUNICATION DEVICE WITH SURFACE-MOUNT ANTENNA

A surface-mount antenna (1) comprises first and second radiating electrodes (5, 6) formed on the upper surface (2c) of a dielectric base (2), and a matching circuit (7) formed on a side (2b). This structure facilitates providing the matching circuit (7) suitably adapted for the surface-mount antenna (1), thus providing desirable impedance matching for the surface-mou nt antenna (1). In addition, the influence of the matching circuit (7) on the first and second radiation electrodes (5, 6) on the upper surface (2c) can b e decreased since the matching circuit (7) is located on the side (2b) of the dielectric base (2). As a result, the gain and bandwidth of the surface-moun t antenna (1) increase.
