Identical rectangular slabs (4) with a width/length ratio greater than or equal to 1:2 are used as the floor and ceiling sections. The length sides of the slabs have profiles at the ends, which protrude on one side of the slab, giving the slab an approximately U-shaped cross-section. The floor slabs have profiles extending towards the foundation (3) and the ceiling slabs have profiles extending away from the foundation. In multi-level buildings, the floor slabs are laid on top of the ceiling slabs so that the profiles on the floor slabs rest on top of the profiles on the ceiling slabs below, forming a closed rectangular cavity in between. Supports (1) with the same height as each building level are provided in between the floor slabs and the ceiling slabs above them, or alternatively a supporting wall (2) is provided beneath at least one slab edge.
