PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which can facilitate aligning of a direction of printing to be printed on a recording medium surface by a simple construction and can carry out good-looking printing on the recording medium surface. SOLUTION: The printer is provided with a tray 8 which is disposed at a predetermined position in a case 1 and set to be movable to the outside of the case 1 from the predetermined position. In the printer, an optical disk 6 is loaded on the tray 8 and printing is carried out by a printing means on a surface of the optical disk 6 at a predetermined position in the case 1. The tray 8 is provided with a rotatable stage 14 for loading the optical disk 6. The direction of printing to be carried out by the printing means is aligned by rotating the optical disk 6 with the stage 14.
