PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aβ-type titanium alloy, which has biocompatibility, superior in cold workability, and can cope with manufacture of a foil strip and an ultrafine wire. SOLUTION: Thisβ-type titanium alloy includes, by mass ratio, 13.5-16.0% Mo, 0.5-5.5% Nb, 0.5-5.0% Zr, 0.20% or less O, and the balance Ti with unavoidable impurities, has aβ-transformation temperature in a range of 700-750 deg.C. Then the alloy prevents work hardening caused by strain induced transformation, by stabilizing theβ-phase, while ensuring the biocompatibility and avoiding solution hardening.
