PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Stirling refrigerating machine that can obtain the maximum output at the quick chilling time immediately after the operation is started, and so on, while preventing the collisions of a piston and a displacer. SOLUTION: The Stirling refrigerating machine is provided with the piston 1 and displacer 2, both of which make reciprocating motions in a cylinder, a heat radiating section 10 and a cooling section 12, both of which transmit the heat generated by the reciprocating motions of the piston 1 and displacer 2 to the outside, and an input current detecting section 18 which detects the current inputted to a linear motor 6 provided as the driving means of the piston 1 from a power source section. The refrigerating machine is also provided with temperature sensors 11 and 13 respectively installed to the heat radiating section 10 and cooling section 12 and a control microcomputer 16 which detects the risk of collisions of the piston 1 and displacer 2.
