The service system (A) uses a pump and motor (3,4) to activate branches to wheel brakes (5a-5d) with electrovalves controlled by the vehicle calculator (C) which receives data from the brake pedal (9). The back up system (B) uses oil from the master cylinder (10) controlled by electrovalves (19,21). Driver braking sensation is provided by a membrane (M) which receives master cylinder oil and has a motor controlled variable volume.
