The gas burner (4) is in the bottom part of the equipment and near to an underlying surface (6). There is an atmosphere pilot light control temperature detector (12) connected to the gas burner supply with a primary air inlet orifice to which is connected a tube (10) whose free orifice (11) is located under the gas burner. The pilot flame (15) temperature detector is coupled to the burner gas supply cut off valve (14). An Independent claim is included for a water gas heater.
