space frame or a flat truss with plated (3,5) nodes (1) and tubular framework members (2,8), particularly of thin walled construction, wherein each plated node (1) has a set of main plates (3), which are inscribed in equal and coaxial circles (4) with common axis the node axis (6), and a set of secondary plates (5) which are perpendicular to the main plates (3). The main plates (3) and the secondary plates (5) have constant thickness and form pairs of parallel plates. Chord framework members (2) are connected to the main plates (3) and diagonal framework members (8) are connected to the secondary plates (5) of the node (1) of the space frame or of the flat truss. The framework members (2,8) before they are form flattened and drilled. Theconnection of the framework to the nodes is made by the use of bolts (10) which are preloaded through controlled tightening. |
