PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a degassing device for a screw extruder which is free from the clogging of a filter member and can be operated for a long time. SOLUTION: This degassing device for discharging a gas or a liquid component contained in a raw material is provided on the downstream side of a hopper part cylinder 1. The degassing device comprises a degassing cylinder 3 with holes 11 and 12 formed on the side, communicating with a cylinder inner hole 10, a screen holding fitment 14 with a cylindrical part 14a fitted into the holes 11 and 12 of the degassing cylinder 3 and a screen 17 which is movable on the tip surface of the screen holding fitment 14.
