PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and portable friction tester capable of simply measuring a friction coefficient. SOLUTION: This friction tester is provided with a beam member 1 having a bent part and/or a curved part and extending in a plane, a contact 2 fixed to one end of the beam member and extending in the plane, a grip part 3 attached to the other end of the beam member, and a first strain gage 4 and a second strain gage 5 stuck to the beam member and separated from each other with a space in the extending direction of the beam member. The tip of the contact is offset from an elongation 1a of the center axis of the beam member at the first strain gage sticking position and/or offset from an elongation 1b of the center axis of the beam member at the second strain gage sticking position.
