PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core spun yarn capable of affording a stretchable and thin fabric having a flat feeling, excellent hygroscopicity, heat reserving properties and shape stability and a slimy feeling and a pliable touch unique to animal hair fibers such as wool. SOLUTION: The core spun yarn comprises a core yarn and a sheath yarn. In the core spun yarn, polyester conjugated fibers which are a side-by-side type or an eccentric sheath-core type comprising one of constituent components consisting essentially of polyethylene terephthalate and the other constituent component consisting essentially of polytrimethylene terephthalate are used as the core yarn and the animal hair fibers are used as the sheath yarn.
