PURPOSE: Devices for analyte concentration determination and methods of using the same are provided to obtain uniform and reproducible heating of the sample measurement area(s) of a test strip so that accurate measurements may be made. CONSTITUTION: A test strip compression element for use with a meter is configured to create a substantially intimate contact between a test strip(40) and a heating element of the meter. The compression element comprises at least one protrusion. At least one protrusion comprises a plurality of protrusions. At least one protrusion is configured to be positioned substantially adjacent to a measurement area of the test strip.
