PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a monochlorohydrocarbon having high isomer purity. SOLUTION: This method for producing the monochlorohydrocarbon having high isomer purity is to react a monoalcohol having 3-20 carbon atoms to which a hydrocarbon group may bind with cyanuric chloride to form the monochlorohydrocarbon and purify by distillation after separating salts and washing with an alkaline medium.
