An elevator device, wherein a control panel (5) thereof is disposed so that workers (7a, 7b) can maintain and inspect the control panel at the position of a car allowing the workers to ride from a platform (6) on the outside of a hoistway (1) onto the car upper part (2a) of a car (2), whereby the workers (7a, 7b) can perform a work easily and efficiently because they need not move the car (2) after boarding to maintain and inspect the control panel (5).
