PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure a sealing performance between a cylinder and a piston in a rotary fluid machinery. SOLUTION: This rotary fluid machinery comprises: a rotor chamber 14; a rotor 41; vanes 48 guided to vane grooves 49 of the rotor 41; and pistons 47 slidably fitted to cylinders 44. A pressure energy of a gas phase operation medium and a rotation energy of the rotor 41 are mutually converted via a power converting device by means of a reciprocating movement of the pistons 47, and the pressure energy of the gas phase operation medium and the rotation energy of the rotor 41 are mutually converted by means of rotation of the vanes 48. A part of a liquid phase operation medium lubricating a sliding surface of each of the vanes 48 and the vane grooves 49 is supplied to the sliding surfaces of the cylinders 44 and the pistons 47 via water passages W10 and orifices 44c, whereby sealing of the sliding surface is performed without using an oil and a sealing member.
