PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device wherein display quality deterioration due to the heat generated from a circuit board is improved, and also downsizing and high reliability are achieved so as to be applicable to a liquid crystal panel of a transmission type or a semi-transmission type structure requiring backlight. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal panel comprising glass substrates 2, 3, the outside main surface of the glass substrate 3 is used as a display screen; electrodes 11 for inputting signals to the liquid crystal panel are derived in the non-display area 10 of the inside main surface; further, a spacer 26 is placed in the non-display area of the outside main surface of the glass substrate 2; a circuit board 13 is placed on the spacer 26; a driving IC 14 is mounted on the circuit board 13; and electrode terminals 15 arranged on the circuit board 13 and input side electrodes 20 of the driving IC 14 as well as the signal input electrodes 11 and output side electrodes 16 of the driving IC 14 are connected via bonding wires 17, respectively.
