PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard contact lens with which adequate lacrimal fluid exchange takes place during wearing of the lens and good visual acuity can be obtained. SOLUTION: The inside surface of the lens consists of a lens central region 1 which is substantially circular, a plurality of annular intermediate regions 2 and 3 which are successively continuous with the outer side of the lens central region 1 and an annular peripheral region 4 which is continuous with the outer side of the intermediate regions. The lens has a contour formed by a concave base curve 5 of the lens central region, respective concave intermediate curves 6 and 7 for a plurality of the intermediate regions successively continuous with the outer side of the base curve and a concave peripheral edge curve 8 of the peripheral region continuous with the outer side of the intermediate curves, when viewed from the diametral section of the lens. At least one of the intermediate curves of a plurality of the intermediate regions consists of a quadratic proximate curve of a curvature smaller than the curvature of the peripheral region of the cornea.
