PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly sink a caisson by solving a problem in a conventional sinking construction method. SOLUTION: When sinking the caisson 10 in the ground, a first sheet 1 is housed and installed in an upper part of an outer peripheral surface 11 of the caisson 10, and the lower end of the first sheet 1 is fixed to a lower part of the outer peripheral surface 11 of the caisson 10. A second sheet 2 is housed and installed in the lower part of the outer peripheral surface 11 of the caisson 10, and the upper end of the second sheet 2 is fixed to the upper part of the outer peripheral surface 11 of the caisson 10. The caisson 10 is sunk in a state of covering the upper part of the outer peripheral surface 11 of the caisson 10 and the lower part of the outer peripheral surface 11 of the caisson 10 with a sheet so as to cover a surface of the first sheet 1 with the second sheet 2.
