PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous metal-sintered compact for strengthening a light alloy member, which is superior in bondability, and provide a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method comprises mixing a graphite powder or further a fine particle powder for improving machinability, with an alloyed powder having such a particle size distribution as to pass a screen of 60 meshes and not to pass the screen of 350 meshes, to make a mixed powder, then charging the mixed powder into a die, molding it with compression to make a green compact, and sintering it. The porous metal-sintered compact has vacancy of 15-50% in an area rate, has the holes with more than 5μm in diameter at the area rate of 80% or higher against the all holes area, and has radial crushing strength of 200 MPa or higher. The porous metal-sintered compact for strengthening the light alloy member, having superior bonding strength and superior strength of a composite member, can be obtained by cast-embedding the porous metal-sintered compact in the light alloy. A light alloy composite member is obtained by employing the same. The alloyed powder may include a stainless steel powder, an iron powder, and a copper powder, or a Fe-Cu alloyed powder.
