PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission device capable of making a gear parking while an uplock of gears is avoided even if the engine is at a standstill. SOLUTION: Even if the engine 10 is stopped (S1) while an uplock is generated in this automatic transmission 30 (S1), the transmission 30 is put in a certain shift stage different from the stage requested by the driver through a shift lever (S5). Therefore, a dislocation is generated in the meshing of the gear train of this automatic transmission owing to its synchro-mesh mechanism, which enlarges the possibility of avoiding the uplock. A retry of the shifting operation is made so that correspondence is established with the shift stage which the driver is requesting through the shift lever 61 (S5). Accordingly even if the engine 10 is at a standstill, the gear parking is generated while uplock of gears is avoided.
