PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strut type suspension for an automobile allowing camber control. SOLUTION: In the suspension for the automobile, a shock absorber 3 has a rod 5 having a piston 6 at its lower end and a cylinder 4 having a fixing part mounted to a tire side of a vehicle. A spiral recessed part 7 or projecting part is formed in the side surface of the rod 5, a ring 8 having a projecting part or recessed part screwed to the recessed part 7 or projecting part in its inner surface is fixed to the upper end of the cylinder 4, the rod 5 is disposed rotatably in response to stroke of the cylinder 4, and a pinion 9 fixed to the upper end of the rod 5 is fitted to a rack 21 disposed at the upper end of an outer cylinder body 17 dampably disposed on the inner surface of an insulator 25 of a car body mounting part via a mount rubber 24, thereby moving the entire shock absorber 3 laterally. |
