PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely make a report high in urgency by reducing a call quantity of a monitoring center side member line at a disaster time caused in a wide area such as an earthquake. SOLUTION: When detecting abnormality of an elevator on the basis of an elevator state signal from an elevator control device 1, a determining part 2b of a remote monitoring device 2 determines the content reported to a monitoring center 4, and makes a delay setting part 2c set time up to starting the report from detection of the abnormality according to the report content. A communication control part 2a makes the report to the monitoring center 4 via a public line network 3 according to this preset time. Thus, in the elevator abnormality simultaneously and frequently caused in a certain area by the earthquake, the call quantity of a monitoring center side telecommunication line being a reporting mate is reduced by delaying the report except for the report high in urgency such as confinement of a passenger so that an important report can be surely transmitted to the monitoring center.
