摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fabric-reinforced optical fiber cord which has a small variation in an optical transmission loss due to heat cycle and is manufactured by a comparatively simple method for manufacturing. SOLUTION: The reinforced optical fiber cord 10 is provided with an optical fiber 12 arranged in the middle, an non-adhesive reinforcing fabric layer 14 and a reinforced coating layer 16. The non-adhesive reinforcing fabric layer 14 is selected from such a single fiber as an aramido fiber, a glass fiber or a polyester fiber, and a coating is formed to cover the outer periphery of the optical fiber 12 without a gap by arraying a plurality of fiber hanks at high density and longitudinally along the outer periphery of the optical fiber 10. The reinforced coating layer 16 is provided with a backup fabric 16a and a thermally flexible resin matrix 16b which makes the backup fabric 16a integrally adhere, and is formed to cover the outer periphery of the non-adhesive reinforcing fabric layer 14. The reinforced coating layer 16 is composed of a compound fiber having a high melting point component and a low melting point component.
