PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exchange pipettes safely. SOLUTION: This blood analyzer comprises a pipette, a pipette drive device which moves the pipette to a specimen container provided at a predetermined position for sucking a blood specimen from the specimen container into the pipette and moves the pipette to an open container provided at other predetermined position for discharging the blood specimen, and a blood analyzing unit which analyzes the discharged blood specimen. The pipette drive device comprises a pipette vertical sliding section which has a holding section for holding the pipette and a supporting body for vertically slidably supporting the pipette holding section, a pipette horizontal drive section for exchangeably mounting the pipette vertical sliding section, and a stopper member attached to the pipette vertical sliding section at a time of exchanging for disabling the pipette vertical sliding.
