PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gasifying/melting method for waste wherein the melting temperature of molten slag in a melting furnace can be controlled with a simple method without the need of provision of new equipment. SOLUTION: In the gasifying /melting method for waste wherein after waste is gasified in a fluidized bed gasifying furnace, an ash fraction produced in the gasifying processing is melted into molten slag, the basicity of a fluid medium of the gasifying furnace is measured, and hereby part of a fluid medium in the gasifying furnace is exchanged for a new fluid medium different in the basicity from the foregoing fluid medium, or the basicity of the fluid medium in the gasifying furnace is adjusted by adding such a new fluid medium. Hereby, melting flow temperature of the molten slag produced in the melting furnace is controlled.
