PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply the start end of a non-stretched sheet to a stretching machine without hindrance at the beginning of the operation of a film manufacturing apparatus. SOLUTION: The film manufacturing apparatus is constituted so that the thermoplastic polymeric material extruded in a molten state from an extruder is cooled to form a sheet S which is, in turn, sent to a stretching machine 5. A stretching dancer roll 22 and an accumulation dancer roll 23, over which the sheet S is trained, are provided on this side of the stretching machine 5. The stretching dancer roll 22 and the accumulation dancer roll 23 are constituted so as to be movable in the running direction of the sheet S in such a state that the sheet S is trained over these rolls 22 and 23 to make it possible to decelerate the running speed of the sheet S fed out from these rolls 22 and 23.
