PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve balance of abrasion resistance performance and gripping performance by making the height of elastic modulus in a large deforming area and tanδ/E' compatible with each other. SOLUTION: This pneumatic tire comprises tread rubber composed of 100 weight parts of a rubber compound containing diene-based polymer of at least 40 weight % and 40-200 weight parts of a filler, wherein the ratio of tensile stress at the time of 300% extension in the tire peripheral direction of a tread rubber surface and tensile stress at the time of 300% extension in the tire width direction is 1.1-0.9.
