PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that forms an image with good quality by adequately preventing deterioration of the image due to individual difference in output powers of a plurality of laser light source elements or a position shift of a writing start position due to lowering of accuracy of an attachment position of the laser light source element. SOLUTION: A digital color duplicator 1 applies a dither processing to image data captured by a scanner 2 by using a dither processing circuit of a gradation processing circuit 9 and forms an image by using a laser printer 10. At that time, the digital color duplicator 1 corrects the image data subjected to the dither processing based on individual differences among a plurality of LDs by using a writing correction circuit of the gradation processing circuit 9 and controls a writing phase of each LD based on the corrected image data. Therefor, when the high speed writing is performed by using the plurality of LDs, the individual differences among the LDs can be corrected by utilizing the controlling of the writing phase so that it is possible to form a smooth image without roughness by equalizing the apparent characteristics of the LDs. |
