PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dehydrator which can continuously and efficiently dehydrate a gas hydrate slurry to give a gas hydrate with a low water content and is suitable for reducing the cost for storing and transporting a gas hydrate. SOLUTION: This dehydrator 12A of a screw press type comprises a container main body 40 equipped with a raw material slurry introduction port 40b for receiving a raw material slurry, a recovered water discharge port 40e for discharging separated recovered water, and a hydrate discharge port 40f for taking out recovered gas hydrate; a cylindrical screen-shaped filter material 40c installed in the inside of the container main body 40; a rotary screw section 41 installed in the inside of the filter material 40c; and a driving section 42 for the screw section 41.
