PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance productivity in sealant coating process. SOLUTION: The recording element unit comprises a bonded laminate of an electrical wiring tape H1300 being connected electrically with a recording element board (not shown) provided with a plurality of recording elements ejecting recording liquid, a second plate H1400, i.e., a supporting plate for holding the electrical wiring tape H1300 fixedly, and a first plate H1200, i.e., a supporting member for holding the recording element board fixedly. A resist layer H1305 is provided on the surface of the electrical wiring tape H1300 being bonded to the second plate H1400. On a set of first and second intersecting sides of the recording element unit, three faces are defined by the resist layer H1305, the first plate H1200 and the second plate H1400 by locating the outer edge of the resist layer H1305 on the inside of the outer edges of both plates H1200 and H1400 and channels 1-3 opening to the atmosphere on one side and having a substantially rectangular cross-section are provided.
