发明名称 Improvements in and relating to control devices responsive to coded electrical call signals
摘要 874,822. Electric calling-systems. GENE. RAL MOTORS CORPORATION. March 14, 1960 [March 16, 1959], No. 8874/60. Class 40 (1). A device responding to a specified call signal 2, Fig. 4, consisting of a series of groups of stepping pulses each group corresponding to an integer, the stepping pulses being accompanied by latching pulses 3, Fig. 4, each beginning and ending with one of the groups of stepping pulses 2, comprises a toothed code wheel 40, Figs. 2 and 3, spring-loaded to a home position, a step. ping magnet 68 energized by stepping pulses adapted to drive the wheel 40 through the pawl 80, a magnet 86 adapted to receive the latching pulses and to engage a latch member 100 with the teeth 50 when it is engaged to prevent the code wheel returning to its home position between the pulses of each integer group. The call signal to which the device will respond is determined by a number of code pins 56, 58, 60, 62 which are mounted on the code wheel, being adjustably engaged in holes 52. These are engaged between groups by a stop member 108 mounted on arm 98 secured to the latching magnet armature 90. The latching magnet is de-energized between groups, the armature 90 falling to the position shown in Fig. 2. The stop 108 then stands in the path of one of the pins 56-62 to prevent backward rotation of the code wheel. To ensure that the device responds only to pulse groups properly separated by a space, there is a catch plate 112 pivoted to arm 98 at 114 which has an upstanding flange 116. In order that a pin shall be able to pass the flange the latching magnet must be de-energized. If pulse groups are received having more pulses than the equivalent groups in the specified call signal, the pin 56 (say) bears on the flange 116 and swings the plate 112 so that its camming surface 118 displaces the pawl 80 out of contact with the teeth 50. The code wheel then returns to its home position. The reception of a correct sequence of integer groups e.g. 55, 274 causes a contact on pin 64 to engage a contact arm 110 on the latching magnet armature 90. The device is reset by a single pulse on both magnets. The call signal may be transmitted by radio as alternate frequencies 1, Fig. 4. This single signal is converted into stepping pulses 2, Fig. 4, and latching pulses 3 for application to the magnets 68 and 86.
