<p>An incubator comprising a housing and base defining a sealed incubation region. There is also means for heating the incubation region in use. A sample receiving member defines a slot for receiving, in use, a sample therein, the sample receiving member is arranged such that, in use, the slot can be moved from a position external to the incubator to a position in the incubation region without passing through a position in which there is a direct opening between the incubating region and the exterior of the incubator. A sample receiving mechanism is positioned within the incubating region for receiving from the sample receiving slot, when it is in incubating region, a sample in use and moving that sample to a storage region within the incubation region.</p> |
