PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air-fuel ratio control device of an internal combustion engine capable of further improving purifying performance of a catalyst device by stably determining a highly reliable identification value of a parameter of a model of an exhaust system including the catalyst device. SOLUTION: An exhaust side control unit 7a successively and variably sets dead time of the exhaust system E according to an exhaust gas flow rate supplied to the catalyst device 3, and successively identifies a parameter value of the model of the exhaust system E having a dead time element of this set dead time. A weight parameter value is also successively set according to the exhaust gas flow rate in this identification processing. The exhaust side control unit 7a successively calculates the target air-fuel ratio KCMD so that output of an O2 sensor 6 is converged in a desired value by using the identification value of this parameter. An engine side control unit 7b operates the air-fuel ratio of an engine 1 according to this target air-fuel ratio KCMD. |
