PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a column packing having improved durability, separation characteristics, and retention capacity, and to provide a manufacturing method of the column packing. SOLUTION: The column packing comprises silica gel having a silane group, silanol group, a silicone polymer that is made of a silicone compound having a hydrosilyl group and covers one portion of the silica gel surface, a first chemical modified group that is combined with a remaining silanol group at a section that is not covered with the silicone polymer on the surface of the silica gel, and a second chemical modified group that differs from the first chemical modified group that is combined with the hydrosilyl group on the silicone polymer. Preferably, the column packing has a trimethylsilyl group that is combined with the silanol group that is generated from the remaining hydrosilyl group on the silicon polymer.
