PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage pushing controller for garbage collection vehicle that enables the operation of pushing garbage to be performed smoothly consistently. SOLUTION: A garbage pushing device is disposed in a garbage dumping box and a discharge plate in the garbage dumping box is provided to move axially by a discharge cylinder 18. An oil-hydraulic circuit of the discharge cylinder includes high pressure relief valves RV2, RV3, a fourth switch valve V4 and a fifth switch valve V5. The high pressure relief valves RV2 and RV3 have different values of resistance. The fourth switch valve V4 switches a back pressure oil chamber of the discharge cylinder between in the communicating position and in the blocked position against the high pressure relief valve RV3. The fifth switch valve V5 controls the fourth switch valve to switch to the communicating position so that the back pressure oil chamber of the discharge cylinder is communicating with an oil reservoir via one of the high pressure relief valves when the oil pressure of the discharge cylinder is higher than that of a push cylinder. On the other hand, the fifth switch valve V5 controls the fourth switch valve V4 to switch to the blocked position when the oil pressure of the discharge cylinder is lower than that of the push cylinder, and controls the back pressure oil chamber of the discharge cylinder to communicate with the oil reservoir only for a quick moment when the oil pressure of the push cylinder reaches the predetermined value or more.
