PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating rate measuring instrument inexpensive, easy to set up, capable of being miniaturized and capable of being easily arranged to all of parts, and a measuring method using the same. SOLUTION: The heating rate measuring instrument is equipped with a heating sensor 12, a thermocouple 14 for measuring the temperature of the heating sensor and an arithmetic unit 16 for calculating a heating rate Q from the initial temperature rising ratio (dT/dt) of a measured temperature change. The measuring instrument is positioned so that the surface of the heating sensor is exposed to a high temperature fluid to continuously measure the temperature change of the heating sensor after the start of heating and the heating rate Q is measured from the initial temperature rising ratio (dT/dt) of the measured temperature change.
