PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing for a drain cock displaying excellent cutoff properties and having a simple structure. SOLUTION: In the packing 3 held to the drain cock closing the opening of a drain inlet member 2, the packing 3 has a base section 13 held to the drain cock 1 and an annular sealing section 23 connected to the base section 13 integrally to be elastically deformable upwards so as to be brought near to the base section 13 by the hopper-shaped tapered surface 2' of the drain inlet member 2 centering around a connecting section 33 with the base section 13 in the case of head load. In the packing 3, the annular sealing section 23 is composed of a tapered upward arcuate curved piece 23c connected to the base section 13, elastically deformed wholly in the direction that the sealing section 23 is brought near to the base section 13 while using the continuous connecting section 33 with the base section 13 by a vector from the tapered surface 2' as a supporting point when the drain cock 1 receives head, and adapted to the tapered surface 2' deformed and connected by the effect of a minute strain in the case of the molding of a solution C having low head such as a washbowl by the elastic restoring force, and a contact area is expanded and the sealing section 23 is attached closely and water is stopped.
