A method for assigning an address to an actuator to be controlled via a bus system is presented. The actuator comprises an actuating element coupled to an actuatable element. The method comprises the steps of: actuating the actuating element so that it moves from a first position to a second position, which corresponds to a first end position of the actuatable element; and assigning an address to the actuator, based on the displacement length of the actuating element between the first position and the second position. <IMAGE>
