PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a liquid crystal display element by which a stage cycle time and manufacturing defect can be effectively reduced. SOLUTION: UV curing resin is applied onto a peripheral part and a center part (a display part) of a substrate 11 and cured by UV irradiation to form a periphery sealing part 13a and a spacer part 13b (Fig. 1 (a)). Uncured thermosetting resin 14 is applied uniformly on the other substrate 12 to be disposed opposite to the substrate 11 (Fig. 1 (b)) and the substrates 11 and 12 are superposed on each other via the periphery sealing part 13a (the spacer part 13b) and the thermosetting resin 14 (Fig. 1 (c)). The substrates 11 and 12 are joined to each other by curing the thermosetting resin 14 interposed between the substrates 11 and 12 superposed on each other to manufacture a liquid crystal cell (a vacant cell) 10 for the liquid crystal display element (Fig. 1 (d)).
