PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat bearing having a small moving resistance and wide moving range. SOLUTION: The flat bearing comprises a pair of plates 11 and 12 capable of relatively moving in two-dimensional plane within a designated movable range while a pair of the plates are arranged to face each other and to maintain in parallel each other, and a spherical body 13 arranged between a pair of the plates. Each plate of a pair of the plates is provided with flat surface portions 11a and 12a, and edge portions 11b and 12b extending to an opposing direction of a pair of the plates in the vicinity of the flat surface portions. A distance A of the designated movable range is determined by A=2(L-d) when a distance of the flat portion of the plate is set at L and a diameter of the spherical body is set at d.
