PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dropped matter receiving part for receiving a matter dropped from the circuit substrate at a low cost in a recording apparatus comprising an apparatus main body provided by assembling a plurality of units with a circuit substrate disposed substantially vertically. SOLUTION: A carriage unit comprising a carriage 22 comprises a frame member 21 (main frame part 21a) as the base member. A circuit substrate 33 comprising a control part of a printer 100 is provided vertically on the rear side of the main frame part 21a as well as the lower end part of the main frame part 21 is disposed above the paper P conveyance path. A bent part 21d formed so as to avoid the paper P conveyance path is disposed below the circuit substrate 33 so as to provide the function of a dropped matter receiving part for receiving a matter dropped from the circuit substrate 33.
